MORE IS NOT ENOUGH

"Eafo’s visual lexicon provides an ordained symbolism that is written in between the sightlines of the urban centre and the white cube. The works are contextualized in accordance to the order of a personal code and through a mediation of walls and spaces in the pedestrian gridiron and within gallery modules. The streets become sacerdotal and the gallery becomes a measure of humility for this anonymous, self-governed and unappointed bishop. Eafo’s media becomes a clergy, and the production of artforms in otherwise absent spaces produce transient congregations of individuals. The presence of the work somehow conveys a calling from elsewhere, and with quiet authority and subtle lament demands a moment for repose. It is with the transcendence of activated sightlines from mere looking to observing and listening that the viewer becomes a witness."
